Counting Costs - Not Just Sheep

Breeding Sheep

Innovis Aberdale® Maternal Sires
High-end sustainability and efficiency

Innovis Aberdale rams are available for flocks who wish to breed their own Aberdale crossbred ewes as replacements.

Our Aberdale system offers:

  • A guaranteed premium for crossbred ewe lambs (with a minimum price agreed one year in advance)
  • Selected ewe lambs moved directly off the farm with no deductions (no tagging, commission or haulage costs)
  • Ram/wether lambs that are faster growing, easier finishing with better carcass specification than the purebred or Longwood alternatives. Around 85% of lambs from Innovis contracted hill flocks hit UK retail specification
  • Guaranteed access to exceptional rams carrying the best genetic traits

Aberdale production is best suited to producers who have:

  • Closed flocks with known health status
  • A commitment to rear ewe lambs to a specified quality year on year
  • Ideally a minimum of 300 ewes available for mating

The Innovis Guarantee

Aberdale rams are supplied on lease arrangement for self-replacing flocks. This means that we will replace any ram that dies or is unable to work during the breeding season. Like our other sheep, Aberdale rams are underpinned with the Innovis seal of quality. This means that all Aberdale rams are guaranteed, MOT’d, quarantine treated and supplied with full health treatment records.

Our commitment to you

We believe in our products and will work with you to help you to maximise returns from our genetics.

Counting costs – not just sheep

If you interested in breeding Aberdale ewe lambs one of our consultants will be pleased to discuss the system with you.

Innovis Breeding Sheep: Innovation for a profitable future

INNOVIS NEWS

DON'T JUST TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT........

"The Aberdale tups are tremendous, they held condition extremely well throughout tupping and winter and the scanning results of this group was not affected by the high ewe to ram ratio. The crossbred lambs they have produced are excellent and we hope to make a premium from the wethers."

Jim Campbell, Bampton Cumbria
