Counting Costs - Not Just Sheep

Breeding Sheep

Primera

The Primera is a composite terminal sire developed by Focus Genetics to produce high performance finished lambs. The Primera is available to sheep breeders in the UK exclusively through Innovis.

Underpinned by the Focus Genetics established breeding programme in New Zealand and developed through large scale progeny testing, the Primera offers:

  • Fast growth rates off grass
  • Ease of lambing
  • Improved carcass meat distribution for future retail yield payments
  • A commercial sire that is backed by the science and the largest progeny test in the world

The Primera will suit you if you:

  • Want to lamb outdoors
  • Want to finish lambs early
  • Want an easy lambing ram to use over ewe lambs
  • Want a fast-finishing option to use over Aberdale crossbred ewes / ewe lambs

The Innovis Guarantee

All sheep supplied by Innovis are underpinned with the Innovis seal of quality. This means that all Primera rams will be guaranteed, MOT’d, quarantine treated and supplied with full health treatment records.

Our commitment to you

We believe in our products. We can advise you on which of our Innovis or Focus Genetics rams would best suit your needs and will work with you to help you to maximise returns from our genetics.
